About us

Mertex UK Limited is a privately-owned company, registered in England and Wales, and together with its associates is a leading, diversified, natural resources group with renowned specialized activity in trading, manufacturing and processing of Line Pipe, Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) such as Casing, Tubing and Drill pipes. These material can be used in renewable energy sector such as Geothermal and Mining. Different origin of material can be supplied and processed depending on project requirement. We primarily supply material from Germany, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China, India, and Japan.

We are engaged in the physical trading of commodities on a global basis. This involves purchasing commodities, mostly from producers, then selling and delivering these commodities to industrial consumers such as petroleum companies, steel mills, public utilities, etc.

We are also involved in manufacturing and processing of green tubes to finished products as per API 5CT standard.

The company also provides financing, logistics, marketing and purchasing services to producers and consumers of commodities. These activities are supported by strategic investments in the industrial assets relating to Mertex’s core physical trading business.

Mertex is a leading business specialising in Casing, Tubing, Line Pipe, Drill Pipe, Duplex Pipe, Mechanical Industrial Pipes for Petrochemicals, Pipes for Boilers, Pipes for Exchangers, Mother Pipes for Fittings and Mother Pipes for Cylinders. We also deal in Steel Billets, Hot Rolled Coils, Cold Rolled Coils, Deformed Bars, Wire Rods to name but a few of our wide range of products.

History & Vision

The company was founded in 1995, in Royal Leamington Spa, which remains the location for the company’s present Headquarters. The company’s expertise focused upon basic metals in the national and international market. By 1998 Mertex UK Limited was the undisputed market leader in the Middle East for these sectors and further controlled expansion added non-ferrous metals and ferro-alloys to its areas of expertise.

Mertex employs steel traders, technical engineers, support service staff and works with independent inspection companies such as Bureau Veritas, SGS, Intertek, and Tuboscope.

We are currently looking to the future and aiming to increase our presence in the European Union, North American, African, Asian and Middle Eastern market. Continued expansion and broadening of our services are also under consideration. New and exciting areas of business currently under development include worldwide markets, where Mertex is already recognised as a leading name.

We have recently started property development and construction projects in our portfolio. Territory for this will be primarily in England.
